Reuss

The Merason Reuss is a high-end reference DAC engineered to deliver music with exceptional neutrality, realism, and emotional engagement. Handcrafted in Switzerland, the Reuss follows Merason’s “less is more” philosophy, combining fully balanced architecture, premium analog circuitry, and ultra-low-noise engineering to reproduce music with remarkable clarity and naturalness.

Built around dual Burr-Brown PCM1794A DAC chips with discrete Class A output stages, the Reuss offers a highly refined analogue-like presentation with outstanding detail, dynamics, and spatial depth. Extensive galvanic isolation, dedicated linear power supplies, and precision signal processing help minimize jitter and electrical noise for pure, uncompromised playback performance.

Designed for discerning audiophiles and high-end stereo systems, the Reuss combines premium Swiss craftsmanship with advanced digital conversion technology in a precision-machined aluminum chassis.

The Merason Reuss is a high-end digital-to-analog converter designed to deliver a neutral, precise, and highly controlled presentation. It sits between the compact frérot and the flagship DAC 1 Mk II in Merason's range, combining the brand's minimalist philosophy with a more ambitious dual-mono architecture.

At the heart of the Reuss are two BurrBrown 1794A converter chips, with one dedicated to each channel. The fully balanced architecture uses four independent signal paths, while a discrete I/V stage and Class A output stage are designed to preserve dynamics, detail, and tonal accuracy.

The Reuss features USB, RCA, Toslink, and AES/EBU digital inputs. Merason uses galvanic isolation and jitter reduction on the inputs to protect the sensitive conversion circuitry from external interference. Its power supply incorporates 12 separate linear supplies with oversized transformers, with dedicated supplies for the output channels.

The result is a DAC with a particularly precise and studio-oriented character. It emphasizes controlled bass, transparency, resolution, and exact imaging while retaining the musicality associated with Merason. Like the company's other DACs, it does not include a volume control or headphone amplifier, keeping its design focused exclusively on digital-to-analog conversion.
