The KEF R8 Meta is designed to enhance immersive home theater systems by adding precise height information for Dolby Atmos and other object-based audio formats. It can be placed on top of compatible speakers or mounted on the wall, offering flexible integration options.

At its core, it features KEF’s Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), ensuring that high-frequency performance remains clean and free of unwanted resonance. This improves spatial accuracy and enhances the realism of overhead effects.

When used in up-firing mode, the R8 Meta reflects sound off the ceiling to create convincing overhead audio, expanding the three-dimensional sound field. In wall-mounted mode, it functions as a highly controlled surround speaker with excellent dispersion characteristics.

Its compact and acoustically optimized enclosure allows it to integrate seamlessly into KEF R Series systems, maintaining tonal consistency while delivering precise, immersive effects that enhance cinematic depth and realism.
