The Anthem STR Preamplifier is a reference-grade stereo control center designed to combine the functionality of a high-performance analog preamplifier, advanced digital processor, and room correction system within a single component. Developed as part of Anthem's STR Series, it is engineered for dedicated two-channel listening environments where precision, flexibility, and system optimization are essential.

Its digital section incorporates a high-resolution DAC capable of processing PCM signals up to 32-bit/384kHz as well as DSD audio formats. Advanced signal processing, asynchronous sample-rate conversion, and carefully designed digital-to-analog circuitry are utilized to preserve detail and minimize noise across a wide range of source components. USB, AES/EBU, coaxial, and optical digital inputs provide compatibility with modern digital audio systems.

A distinguishing feature of the STR Preamplifier is the integration of Anthem Room Correction (ARC Genesis), allowing the system to analyze room acoustics and apply precise corrections to improve tonal balance, imaging, and low-frequency performance. Independent bass management for one or two subwoofers provides additional flexibility for advanced stereo and 2.1-channel installations.

For analog sources, the unit includes balanced and unbalanced connections along with dedicated moving magnet and moving coil phono stages. Combined with configurable crossover settings, extensive connectivity, and a fully featured control platform, the STR Preamplifier is designed to serve as the centerpiece of a high-performance two-channel audio system.
