The KEF Reference 1 Meta is a flagship standmount loudspeaker from KEF’s Reference series, designed to deliver reference-level accuracy in a compact bookshelf format. It is intended for critical listening environments where precision, imaging, and tonal neutrality are essential.

At its core, it features KEF’s Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which significantly reduces high-frequency resonance. This allows for cleaner treble reproduction, improved detail retrieval, and a highly coherent, natural soundstage.

Despite its compact size, the Reference 1 Meta delivers extended bass response through its dedicated 165 mm hybrid aluminum woofer. This ensures tight, controlled low-frequency performance with excellent integration across the full frequency range.

Its heavily engineered, constrained-layer damped cabinet minimizes internal resonance and coloration. The result is a loudspeaker that achieves exceptional transparency, precise imaging, and reference-grade fidelity in a compact form factor suitable for high-end stereo and monitoring applications.
