The Harman Kardon AVR 230 is a straightforward surround receiver with the strong, full-bodied sound the brand was known for in the early 2000s. It delivers 65 watts per channel in stereo and supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround processing, making it a good fit for a secondary home theater, older TV setup, or simple multi-speaker system.
Its appeal today is simplicity and solid amplification rather than modern HDMI features, so it’s best suited to someone who already has compatible sources and wants an affordable, well-built receiver for music and movies.
