The Paradigm Defiance X12 is a high-output powered subwoofer designed for demanding home theater and high-performance stereo systems. Its 12-inch carbon-loaded polypropylene driver incorporates Paradigm's Active Ridge Technology (ART™), allowing greater excursion while maintaining low distortion and precise bass reproduction.
A powerful Class-D amplifier delivers 650 watts of continuous power and up to 1,300 watts of dynamic peak output. Combined with the ART™ driver, the rigid cabinet, and high-current amplification, the X12 is capable of producing substantial low-frequency impact while maintaining control during demanding passages.
The bass-reflex cabinet uses a high-velocity, low-turbulence port to maximize airflow and minimize port noise. The X12 reaches down to 17 Hz according to the DIN measurement standard, while its on-axis frequency response extends from 21 Hz to 240 Hz ±3 dB, making it particularly well suited to large rooms and cinematic applications.
Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) and the Paradigm Subwoofer Control App provide extensive setup and tuning capabilities. Users can adjust volume, crossover, phase, and other parameters from a smartphone, while the optional Defiance WT Wireless Kit allows the X12 to be integrated wirelessly into compatible systems.
