Unlike traditional amplifiers, the Sonos Amp combines amplification, streaming, and multiroom control in one unit. It allows you to connect speakers, TVs (via HDMI ARC), or analog sources like turntables, while also streaming music through WiFi, AirPlay 2, and the Sonos app.

Its flexibility makes it ideal for both hi-fi stereo systems and home theater setups, as well as custom installations where discreet architectural speakers are used. It can also be expanded across multiple rooms, creating a seamless whole-home audio system.

The Sonos Amp is a versatile wireless streaming amplifier designed to power passive speakers while providing access to the Sonos multi-room audio platform. With 125 watts per channel at 8 ohms, it can drive a wide range of passive speakers and deliver high-quality stereo playback in a compact chassis.

The Amp supports Wi-Fi streaming and Apple AirPlay 2, allowing users to access music, podcasts, audiobooks, and other content through the Sonos ecosystem. Its RCA line input also allows traditional audio sources such as CD players and turntables with a suitable phono stage to be integrated into the system.

For home theater applications, HDMI ARC/eARC allows the Amp to connect directly to a compatible TV. It can provide stereo TV audio and can also be integrated with other Sonos products for a more immersive setup.
