The Anthem MCA 225 Gen 2 is a high-current two-channel power amplifier designed for both dedicated stereo systems and premium home theater installations. Built around a fully discrete Class AB topology, it delivers 225 watts per channel into 8 ohms and remains stable into demanding low-impedance speaker loads, providing substantial power reserves and dynamic headroom.
A key element of the design is Anthem's low-noise toroidal power supply, combined with eight high-current bipolar output devices per channel. This architecture is engineered to provide excellent loudspeaker control, low distortion, and consistent performance during demanding musical passages and dynamic movie soundtracks.
The Gen 2 series incorporates a revised internal layout with shorter signal paths, reduced internal cabling, and upgraded power supply regulation. Together with high-quality filter capacitors and oversized heatsinks, these refinements contribute to lower noise, improved efficiency, and enhanced overall amplifier performance.
Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs provide integration flexibility with a wide range of preamplifiers, AV processors, and receivers. Anthem's Advanced Load Monitoring (ALM) system continuously monitors temperature, current, and voltage conditions to ensure reliable operation while preserving audio performance, making the MCA 225 Gen 2 well suited for high-performance music and home theater applications.
